Obituary

Nellie Frances Nalley, 94, passed away on February 28, 2021. She retired from Beams Distillery. Nellie was a loving wife and mother and was the rock of our family. She was selfless, humble and encouraging to others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Nalley, Jr; son-in-laws, Michael McDonald and Samuel Morris; siblings, Alfred Whelan, Margaret Higdon, Bernie Whelan, Mary Jo VanVactor, Rita Murphy and her infant sister.

Nellie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Carolyn McDonald and Donna Morris and sons, William M. (Pat), Earl E. (Mary Jo), Timothy W. and Russell A. (Anthony Lechner) Nalley; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and siblings, Fred Whelan, Michael Whelan, Bernice Lee, Ruth Ann Bandy and Bonnie Hulak.

Visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2021, at Legacy Funeral Home, Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Nellie’s life will be Saturday, March 6, 2021, beginning at 12pm.

Nellie will be laid to rest at Mt. Holly Cemetery, 800 Mt. Holly Road, Fairdale, KY.
